Cement Kilns: Early rotary kilns
The kilns at Shoreham were typical of the quot;first generationquot; of successful kilns. They were supplied as a fullyequipped package by F. L. (FLS), loosely based on a design by Lathbury amp; Spackman. They were numbers 3 and 4 in the FLS rotary kiln order book, the first two, of almost identical design, having been installed at Aalborg, Denmark, in 1899.
